Simple pattern from Jodie at The Yarn Angel

Just using up some scraps that happen to match. Love it when that happens!

Of Dragons and Kings

A hand painted dragon will become a nunchaku case for George's BD. I'm just going to add a little relief quilting and then make a long skinny draw string bag with it and line with wool felt.

The Dragon Slayer... a project for an upcoming swap... running a little behind as usual. Next up will be a Gees Bend mini swap.

... And King Carl, modeling the Fort Hudson Employee of the Year outfit.

Shower Away!

The shower curtain is finally done... and mailed away. Can't wait to see it in her bathroom!

I used buttonholes this time instead of grommets. I wanted to try my hand (and new machine) at something new.

And, here's the ball of yard... it finally turned into a hat...

A little pillow for a quick birthday gift last weekend...
And now, time to get busy on 4 mini quilts for the 6-12" mini quilt swap!

Mr. Q in the Kitchen

Not a hat...

There's just no way that this can ever become anything that would fit a head... thinking (after 4 x's working and ripping out again) that there's some "dec sc's" missing. the pattern has a mistake... The ball of yarn has maybe one more life in it, so i'm cutting my losses and trying a different pattern from the book!

A break from crafting...

Stopping to take a break from quilting and such to help Mr. Q build a workbench... about time we did a little organizing in that garage!

Making space...

Mr. Q's drill bites the dust...
Off to Lowe's for a new one...

apparently, green drills work better...

The New Library

A walk downtown Thursday night in the snow to see the new Crandall Library that just opened TODAY! This pretty house we passed had a tree on the front porch, neat!
Downtown Glens Falls

Almost there... just gotta stop to dream

There it is!! Crandal Library
We didn't get to stay inside very long and they closed the library early due to inclement weather, here part of the children's room.

Here's some cool art on the wall (artist: Melissa Mastrangelo)

Quilt finished

Our youngest finally gets her quilt! Finished it a few days ago. Now it's just Mr. Q and I that don't have one, but a nice little collection of kaffe facett fabrics is growing in my stash! So... as soon as the holidays are over, look out...

Shakara's Pillow

A pillow for a friend...

I've never tried the satin stitch machine applique, so this was an experiment.
The corners were a little hard to maneuver, but overall, not too bad.

the eye for color

mr. q has a great eye for color. he's rearranging for me! here's the blocks layed out for gracie's quilt. it's actually just really BIG bowtie blocks. i wanted the blocks to be big enough to show some of the playful fabric. cute little snails and kittens.

a little project with mom

okay, mom and i did some fancy assembly line work and had this little bag knocked off in about 2 hours... that included figuring out how to program the applique stitch on the new machine so that we could do a tiny little birthday cake on it (the bag was to hold some little birthday goodies for a friend of Lex's.

This awesome pattern is available from Pink Pengin!

brick-laying finished

Well, there's a few more details and more sky. There's an owl waiting to be created and put into that tree. But the bricks are fini! I like the effect!

Laying Bricks

I'm plotting in my head a wall-hanging with a schoolhouse on it. These are the bricks!

My sister lives in a schoolhouse that she and her husband purchased a few years ago and are fixing up. They're doing an awesome job, btw. They were even featured in an episode of "If Walls Could Talk" on HGTV!

Love ya sis!
